I can remember my mom making these chocolate crinkle cookies growing up and I could hardly wait for them to get baked because they tasted so good with a glass of milk. They are chocolaty but not too chocolaty if you know what I mean. You’ll have to make them yourself to see how good they really are. Give them a try.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 2 – 1 ounce squares of baking chocolate (melted)
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
- Start off by thoroughly creaming your shortening, sugar, and vanilla.
- Add eggs and melted chocolate squares and set aside for a minute.
- In another bowl sift flour, baking powder, and salt together and alternately add it to your cookie dough with milk.
- Add walnuts, cover it, and chill for at least 3 hours.
- After the cookie dough has chilled, form one inch balls and roll them in powdered sugar.
- Bake them for about 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees on a greased cookie sheet.
- Enjoy! These cookies are amazing dipped in milk. You’ll wish you had made a double batch.
