Women’s right to vote – 1920
“The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.”
The 19th amendment ratified on August 18th 1920 and was nicknamed the “Anthony Amendment” in honor of Susan B. Anthony who died in 1906. For 70+ years women like Anthony fought for women’s right to vote.
