Terracotta self-watering spikes are hollow clay spikes that you bury in your garden or containers near your plants. These clay spikes are then filled with water from a reservoir such as a plastic bottle, wine bottle, or some other source. The porous clay will slowly leach water from the reservoir into the surrounding soil watering your plants.
Terracotta watering spikes are similar to ollas. (See: Clay Pot Irrigation Systems + DIY Homemade Ollas).
