Swedish Tea Cookies

These cookies are my brother’s favorite.  They are so easy to make and I always have the ingredients on hand.  When I do cookie arrangements for a holiday gift I always include these because they look nice on the plates and I can put whatever colored sprinkles I want on them to add to the variety.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 4 Tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of nuts (I always use chopped walnuts)
  • 1 cup or so of powdered sugar to roll the cookies in after they are baked
  • Colored sugar to sprinkle on (optional)

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients except the powdered sugar and colored sugar together and form into balls.

Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.  The cookies do not spread out much so you can put a lot on one cookie sheet.

Roll the still hot cookies into the powdered sugar.

Sprinkle with colored sugar if you like.
