What Is a Jessem Doweling Jig?

A Jessem doweling jig (not affiliated) is used by woodworkers to easily and systematically create dowel joinery for woodworking. It is a premium tool that I would consider a lifetime tool because it is heavy-duty, well built out of anodized aluminum, laser engraved, and precise. The Jessem doweling jig is extremely versatile because it will produce the majority of dowel joints that you typically see in woodworking plus it can create dowel pattern layouts. Its nearest competitor is the Dowelmax in terms of price, precision, build, and longevity.

I purchased the Jessem master kit (not affiliated) for around $200 USD. It is a complete kit that comes with three different sized dowel guides, indexing pins, drill bits, stop collars, and main body for around $200 USD.
