How Many Members Does The Supreme Court Have?

There are 9 members of the Supreme Court, one Chief Justice and 8 Associate Justices. These are life long positions.

They are not elected positions instead they are nominated by the President and have to be confirmed by the Senate. If the Senate does not confirm the nominee a president must nominate another candidate.

This means that the judicial branch is led by Justices that been approved by both the legislative and executive branches.
