Casseroles are great but you don’t always have the time to get it all ready for the oven and bake it too. When we are short on time and I want to make something the whole family really likes I rely on my old Goop recipe.
I am not sure where the name actually came from but that is what we call my creation.
Depending on who is home for dinner I do tend to vary the ingredients a bit so feel free to do the same.
How To Make:
Ingredients:
- 1 – 1 1/2 pounds of hamburger
- 3 tablespoons of chopped onion
- 3 cups of cooked shell macaroni
- Several slices of Velveeta cheese
- 1 large can of diced tomatoes
- salt and pepper to taste
Additional ingredients that I have added – but it tastes good without any of them as well:
- mushrooms
- green peppers (add them to the hamburger and onions when you brown it)
- a can of green beans
- a can of corn
- 3 cups of frozen vegetables
Directions:
- Brown your hamburger and onions together and then drain grease.
- Add your diced tomatoes and cooked shell macaroni and stir till evenly mixed.
- Add any other ingredients you choose to.
- After everything is stirred up and warm place slices of Velveeta cheese on the top.
- Put a lid on the skillet and let the cheese melt. I usually serve this with a salad and warm biscuits.
