We love to make candy around the holidays, but we often use our peanut brittle recipe at other times as well. It isn’t too hard and it turns out each and every time.
How To Make:
Ingredients:
- 3 cups white sugar
- 1 1/2 cups white Karo syrup
- 1 1/3 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound raw spanish peanuts
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon soda
Directions:
- Stir sugar, karo syrup, and water together and boil till it forms soft ball stage.
- Add salt and peanuts and sir mixture on stove till it becomes a light yellow color (approx 305 degrees).
- Stir in butter and soda. (the mixture will bubble and that is good).
- Pour on greased platters and cool partially by lifting around the edges with spatula. Keep spatula moving under the candy so it won’t stick. When the peanut brittle is firm but still warm turn it over.
- After it is cold, break into pieces.
